- Interest will be paid quarterly (in three months) on FDs of 6 months or more
- The principal amount cannot be converted completely, but the interest earned on the deposit can be transferred into foreign currency
- Auto-renewal and nomination facility available
- The account needs to be maintained for at least 7 days to get interest on the deposit
NRE Fixed Deposit
- FD can be opened jointly with more than one NRI.
- Duration : 1 year to 10 years
- Principal amount and interest can be converted into foreign currency
- NRE Fixed Deposit can be converted into foreign currency without any hassles
- The FD has to be maintained for at least 12 months to earn interest
- Nomination facility is available
FCNR Deposit
- Depositors can make deposits in any of the currencies USD, GBP, AUD, CAD, SGD, HKD.
- Duration : 1 year to 5 years
- No minimum deposit amount required to be maintained
- With Internet Banking facility, depositors can access their accounts 24 hours a day, along with secure and quick transactions
- Mobile banking facility available
- No interest will be paid on the FD if it is broken one year before the date of deposit or its renewal
Pre-mature withdrawal of fixed deposits
- Interest will be given at 1% less than the applicable interest rates on breaking the FD. Out of the two conditions mentioned below, whichever is less the interest will be paid:
- Interest for the principal / contracted period of the deposit amount
- The interest rate applicable on the time for which the FD was with the bank
- 1% pre-closure charges will be levied on FDs booked or renewed on or after April 15, 2019.
