Popeyes is selling fried chicken for 59 cents to celebrate 50th anniversary (Popeyes fried chicken 59 cents), Popeyes is turning 50 on Sunday, and they’re commending by offering chicken for under $1.
The cheap food chain declared to pay tribute to its most memorable eatery opening on June 12, 1972, they will offer an arrangement on two bits of chicken for 59 pennies.
The cost is huge: it matches the first cost offered when Popeyes previously opened quite a while back.
In 1972, Alvin C. Copeland Sr., opened a café called Chicken on the Run in New Orleans, serving customary Southern-broiled chicken, as per the Popeyes site. The eatery battled, provoking Copeland to rename it Popeyes after Popeye Doyle, Gene Hackman’s personality from the 1971 film “The French Connection.”
To get the two-piece chicken arrangement, clients should make a base acquisition of $5 through a versatile request on the Popeyes application or on the eatery’s site.
The arrangement is accessible from Sunday through June 19.
